Hon. KG SHINE (Toowoomba North—ALP) (Attorney-General and Minister for Justice and Minister Assisting the Premier in Western Queensland) (12.39 pm): […] Madam Deputy Speaker, having regard to the constraints of time, I seek leave to have the balance of my speech incorporated in Hansard.

Madam DEPUTY SPEAKER (Ms Darling): Minister, has the Speaker reviewed your speech?

Mr SHINE: I cannot answer that.

Madam DEPUTY SPEAKER: May I have a quick look at it before I put the question?

An opposition member: The pressure is on.

An opposition member: I don’t think it is going to pass.

An opposition member: Perhaps the Deputy Speaker could read it aloud to save us all a lot of trouble.

An opposition member: I think I’ll wait for the movie.

A government member: There are a lot of comedians here, aren’t there, Kerry?

Mr SHINE: It is pleasing to get the assistance of honourable members in this matter.

Madam DEPUTY SPEAKER: It might be an opportune moment to remind members that, when seeking to incorporate a speech, it does need to be reviewed briefly beforehand by the Speaker.
