DR K.D. HAMES (Dawesville — Minister for Health) [9.07 am]: In answer to a question from the member for Southern River during question time on 23 June, I may have unintentionally left an incorrect impression with members about the performance of Cooper and Oxley, the company contracted to build the oncology ward at Rockingham General Hospital. I had taken the opportunity during question time on that day to respond to previous criticism from the opposition about the oncology ward not being open to the public —

Mr B.S. Wyatt: Minister, you can’t even get a dorothy dixer right!

Dr K.D. HAMES: The member is not allowed to interject on brief ministerial statements.

Mr B.S. Wyatt: You’re not allowed to interject at all, minister.

Dr K.D. HAMES: That is true, so why does the member keep doing it?

Mr B.S. Wyatt: Because you keep stuffing up your dorothy dixers!

Dr K.D. HAMES: The member should just relax. The member will have to get his babies to get some sleep.

Mr B.S. Wyatt: A dorothy dixer! Minister, really!

The SPEAKER: Member for Victoria Park, I am really looking forward to the rest of this day. I hope you are too.

Mr B.S. Wyatt: I am indeed, Mr Speaker.

The SPEAKER: I will not formally call the member for Victoria Park.

Dr K.D. HAMES: Well done, Mr Speaker. Maybe Mr Speaker could do something to help the member for Victoria Park’s children get some sleep. He is driving us crazy.

Mr B.S. Wyatt: Nothing works on that front.
