19 March, 2012
by

On Saturday 17 March 2012, Jaye Radisich, the former member for Swan Hills, passed away from cancer, aged only 35. Her success in the 2011 election, at the age of 24, made her the youngest woman elected to the WA State Parliament. Having retained the seat of Swan Hills at the 2005 election, she retired from parliament at the 2008 election. [More details in these news stories: ABC News, The West Australian, Perth Now.]
Houses and Motions sends our condolences to her partner and her family and friends.

MS RADISICH (Swan Hills) [4.08 pm]: […] I am here to advocate for and represent the people of Swan Hills and I am also here to serve the people of Western Australia. I am humbled by the position and privilege that I now hold and will be an adamant and perhaps on occasion loud voice in this place. I am here to work hard and I will do my best to keep it real.
